By placing an order with CarCerta, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

2. Our Products
CarCerta sells digital products designed to assist used-car buyers.
Products may include PDF guides, inspection checklists, red-flag guides, vehicle comparison tools, spreadsheets, cost calculators and other downloadable resources.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, CarCerta products are digital products only. No physical product will be posted to you.
Product descriptions on the website explain the main contents and intended use of each product.
3. Prices and Payment
Prices are displayed in pounds sterling (£) unless stated otherwise.
The price payable is the price displayed at the time the order is placed, subject to correction of any obvious pricing error.
Payment must be successfully completed before access to a paid digital product is provided.
CarCerta may change product prices at any time. Changes will not affect an order that has already been completed.
4. Digital Delivery
Following successful payment, the purchased digital content will be made available electronically.
This may be through a download link, website download, email or another electronic delivery method.
You are responsible for providing accurate contact information and for having suitable software and equipment to open the files.
If you experience a problem receiving or opening your purchase, contact:
5. Digital Content and Cancellation Rights
CarCerta products are digital content supplied electronically.
Where you request immediate access to digital content, you will be asked before supply begins to:
expressly consent to CarCerta supplying the digital content immediately; and
acknowledge that once supply of the digital content begins, you will lose your statutory 14-day right to cancel.
Where the legal requirements for immediate digital supply have been satisfied and supply has begun, you will no longer have the 14-day cancellation right in respect of that digital content.
This does not affect your statutory rights where digital content is faulty, not as described or otherwise fails to meet rights that cannot legally be excluded.
6. Problems With Digital Content
CarCerta aims to provide digital content that is of satisfactory quality and matches its description.
If you receive an incorrect file, cannot access your purchase because of a problem with the supplied content, or believe the digital content is faulty or not as described, contact:
We will consider the issue in accordance with applicable UK consumer law.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
7. Personal-Use Licence
Purchasing a CarCerta product gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use that product for your own personal purposes.
You may download the files and print reasonable copies for your personal use.
Unless CarCerta gives prior written permission, you must not:
resell or redistribute a CarCerta product;
upload it for public access;
share purchased files with other people;
reproduce the product for commercial distribution;
sublicense the product;
remove CarCerta branding for the purpose of presenting the product as your own; or
commercially exploit CarCerta materials.
All intellectual-property rights in original CarCerta products, written content, designs, branding and resources remain with CarCerta or the relevant rights holder.
8. Purpose of CarCerta Products
CarCerta products provide general information and decision-support tools intended to help users carry out their own assessment when considering a used vehicle.
CarCerta does not provide a professional mechanical inspection, engineering inspection, roadworthiness certification, safety certification, vehicle valuation, legal advice or financial advice.
Using a CarCerta checklist, guide, calculator or scoring system does not establish that a vehicle is safe, mechanically sound, correctly valued, legally compliant, suitable for you or free from hidden defects.
9. Vehicle Condition
Used vehicles may contain faults that are hidden, intermittent or impossible to identify through a visual inspection or test drive.
CarCerta cannot guarantee that its products will identify every existing or future mechanical, electrical, structural, cosmetic or safety issue.
Where appropriate, you should obtain an independent inspection from a suitably qualified mechanic or professional vehicle-inspection service before purchasing a vehicle.
10. Vehicle History and Documentation
CarCerta does not independently verify the history or identity of vehicles inspected using its products.
Users remain responsible for conducting appropriate checks concerning matters such as MOT history, mileage, vehicle identity, outstanding finance, theft records, insurance write-off/category history, service history and other relevant documentation.
Information supplied by a seller or dealership should be independently verified where appropriate.
11. Vehicle Comparison and Cost Calculator
CarCerta calculators and comparison tools provide estimates based on the information entered by the user and the assumptions and formulas contained within the relevant product.
Actual costs may differ.
This includes, but is not limited to, fuel or electricity costs, insurance, vehicle tax, servicing, maintenance, repairs and other ownership expenses.
Where a calculator permits a value of £0, this should only be entered where the relevant cost does not apply, is unknown or is intentionally being excluded, in accordance with the instructions provided with the calculator.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the CarCerta calculator does not receive a live market valuation or live vehicle-pricing feed.
Where the calculator includes a market-value comparison, the market value is entered manually by the user.
Results produced by the calculator should therefore be treated as estimates and decision-support information rather than guarantees of actual vehicle value or future ownership cost.
12. Test Drives and Vehicle Inspections
Users are responsible for carrying out any vehicle inspection or test drive safely and lawfully.
Do not attempt any inspection that would place you or another person at risk.
Do not work underneath a vehicle, touch hot or moving components, interfere with safety systems or perform mechanical work unless you are competent and appropriately equipped to do so.
CarCerta’s materials are not instructions to undertake hazardous mechanical activities.
13. Purchasing Decisions
The final decision whether to purchase, reject, inspect further or negotiate for a vehicle belongs entirely to the customer.
A score, calculation, checklist result or other output produced using CarCerta does not constitute CarCerta’s approval, certification or recommendation of a particular vehicle.
14. Third-Party Services
CarCerta may refer users to third-party websites, vehicle-history services, valuation services or other external resources.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, these services are independent of CarCerta.
CarCerta is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, terms, privacy practices or content of independent third-party services.
15. Intellectual Property
The CarCerta name, branding, original written materials, guides, checklists, spreadsheets, calculators and other original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Purchasing a product does not transfer ownership of CarCerta’s intellectual property to the customer.
16. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
Subject to those protections, CarCerta provides its tools for general information and decision support.
CarCerta does not guarantee that use of its products will identify every vehicle defect, prevent financial loss, result in a successful negotiation, accurately predict future costs or ensure that a vehicle will be reliable or suitable.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CarCerta will not be responsible for losses arising solely from decisions made in reliance on estimates, user-entered information or general guidance where professional inspection or specialist advice would reasonably have been appropriate.
17. Website Availability
CarCerta aims to keep its website and digital products available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
We may reasonably update, maintain, modify or discontinue parts of the website or individual products.
18. Changes to These Terms
CarCerta may update these Terms from time to time.
The Terms applying to an individual purchase will normally be those in effect when the order was placed.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections that apply to them under applicable law.
